About Mayli
I am a college student, working on my bachelor's degree. I am a crazy, fun, nerdy person. I have taken honors, AP, and CE classes throughout high school and continue to challenge myself with harder classes. In addition to the STEM classes, I also have spent a fair amount of time in other classes, such as drama, teaching, music (choir, violin, & piano), PE (I looove anything outside or sports!) cooking, English (I'm writing a book!), and student council. I have helped coach a soccer team, helped manage a play, babysat/was a nanny for 10+ years, and daily serenade my dog, among other things. I know it is important to have fun while learning, and I try to incorporate all the good things I have learned about teaching into my tutoring so that the knowledge sticks better and is more enjoyable.

I know that math can we one of the more frustrating, boring, or disliked subject for students, especially if they aren't understanding it. I aim to gently help the student feel confident as I help them gain skills. I will incorporate games/fun activities as I tutor to help math become a source of triumph and joy for the student, instead of something they might dread. I can teach general concepts or help with specific problems the student is working on.
