About Wendy
I was a classroom teacher for 19 years. I now make furniture and art from Cedar. I'm able to take students through mathematical processes from cutting the tree to the finished product. I'm a great resource for plugging learning gaps from previous years.

I incorporate all relative subjects as I teach math standards. An example would be incorporating science explanations of how the tree releases gas when cut, and will have cracking in the wood during the drying process. This simple process can change the predicted area and perimeter of your piece. Another example is to incorporate chemical reactions while building pieces with epoxy, all the while packing several math standards into one project. I had a lot of success in the classroom using an investigative approach to my lessons.
