The variety of methods is endless, so it is crucial to be willing to widen our horizons as I carry the responsibility of developing the skills and knowledge of the future generation.

Creativity and imagination are characteristics that are included in my personality. I see education not just based on what we need to teach but more importantly on how we teach. My ethos is:

1.-To encourage children to express their ideas and suggestions as I believe it is extremely important for them to have control over their learning.

2.- First-hand stimulating experiences, which I include in my lesson's plan. I always think about them thoroughly ahead of each session because it helps to get the best of them during each one. It is also crucial to anticipate various possible reactions from the pupils to maximize the intervention. For example, when I explore new food with a student to increase his tolerance; I always plan movement breaks or mindfulness before and after, to help him to calm down.

3.- For every child but, especially for SEN children, I am flexible across a spectrum of abilities, cultural backgrounds and emotional considerations. I provide tasks and resources according to their levels. For example, I always provide a step chart with the order of the tasks, so they can be ticked once they are done. I have also a reward chart to help the student's engagement and support him as he will have a reward to look forward to at the end of the activity/lesson.

I also consider their personal development extremely important and, from my point of view, the best way of achieving this is by offering a good role model during day-to-day activities. I cannot oblige them to say “thank you” or “please”, but by doing it myself and modelling them I can help them. How can they enjoy a lesson if I, myself, am not interested in it? The enthusiasm for learning begins with me.
