About Sophia
Hi! My name's Sophia and I'm a neurodivergent student currently studying psychology and philosophy at Durham University. I achieved highly in my GCSEs and A-levels, but always struggled with the one-size-fits-all school environment, so I'd love to help others learn in a way best suited to them. I've tutored at GCSE and 11+, for a wide range of abilities, and have helped people to improve both their confidence and skill level significantly! I am also passionate about English and psychology, and have mastered the technique involved in writing top-scoring A-level essays. My rate is more affordable because I haven't yet graduated, but I have 8/9s in all relevant subject areas, and straight A*/As at A-level. I'd love to help out, with real, practical advice on how to improve, whether for an exam or if you're just feeling a little behind in class, with an approach that's tailored to you. I take a super tailored approach to tutoring; let me know in advance what you'd like to cover and I can plan a lesson to teach you a concept, we can go through practice questions together, I can give you detailed feedback on your work, you can come to me with questions, exam technique advice, or anything else! I've been tutoring for GCSE and 11+ for the past two years, with a focus on English (literature and language), RS, psychology and maths at KS2-3 level. I achieved 8/9s and A*/As in all the subjects that I teach and am on track to graduate with a first. I also have lots of flexibility in lesson length and scheduling, so I can work around whatever works best for you.
