About Ella
Throughout my schooling, I struggled to ask for help. It is scary to admit perceived weakness. Despite my excellent teachers, I failed to understand key concepts, and in my earlier years, this was evident throughout my academic transcript.
I want to assure all students that failing to understand information is not because of their academic ability and is not their weakness. I believe the information has not been presented in a way that suits their learning type, and it is ultimately the weakness of the education system.
I am committed to finding a way to explain concepts in a way that makes sense to each individual student. My determined nature will not stop until concepts get through to my students, and I will ensure they have understood me through question-based learning.
I am kind and ensure my sessions are judgment-free. There is no stupid question, and I encourage all students to ask me questions during or outside of sessions. Fundamentally, I am dedicated to my students' knowledge and understanding and their academic success within the Australian education system.

I structure my sessions around repetition and active recall. From my 3 years of tutoring experience, this methodology has equipped my students best. I typically begin sessions by explaining concepts and clearing up confusion around the content. I then move to question-based learning and like to finish off the lessons with old content reviews and questions to ensure they still understand the previous week's work. I also provide students with study and exam techniques. I am also happy to do exam review sessions, feedback sessions and marking. I do not have a typical lesson length as I recognise that all students have unique ways of learning. I recommend a couple of shorter weekly sessions for students with shorter attention spans or those who need help establishing a study routine. For students who work better in longer study blocks, I suggest a 1-2 hour session per week or fortnight, depending on their academic goals and needs. I am happy to discuss and trial with students to discover what timetable would work best for them.
