About Soumitra
I am a dedicated and approachable Math and Science tutor with a strong academic background, holding a Master’s degree from the University of Galway. I specialize in helping students build confidence, strengthen core understanding, and achieve meaningful improvements in their grades.
My teaching style is clear, patient, and highly personalized. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps, ensuring students truly understand the “why” behind the subject rather than memorizing formulas or methods. I adapt my approach to each student’s learning style—whether visual, practical, or theory-driven—to make lessons engaging and effective.
I place strong emphasis on exam preparation, using past papers, marking schemes, and targeted practice to help students maximize marks and develop strong problem-solving skills. I also provide regular feedback so students (and parents, if desired) can track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Above all, I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. Whether a student needs help catching up, keeping up, or pushing ahead, I bring structure, clarity, and encouragement to every session.

Concept‑First Approach
I focus on helping students truly understand the underlying concepts in Maths and Science rather than memorising steps. Once the foundation is strong, problem‑solving becomes far easier and more intuitive.
Step‑by‑Step Problem Solving
I break down complex questions into simple, manageable steps. This builds confidence and helps students develop a structured approach they can apply independently.
Tailored Lessons for Each Student
Every student learns differently. I adapt my teaching style—visual, verbal, or practice‑based—depending on the student’s strengths, pace, and learning preferences.
Active Learning
I encourage students to think aloud, ask questions, and attempt problems during the session. This builds deeper understanding and long‑term retention.
Regular Feedback
I provide clear, constructive feedback so students (and parents, if desired) can track progress and identify areas for improvement.
