About Steve

From entry-level job seekers to seasoned professionals pursuing advancement, I support candidates across every industry. My executive level policing career offers insider knowledge of the structured interview approaches used throughout government, corporate, and public sector hiring. I tutor on how to replace nervous uncertainty with confident storytelling that demonstrates your true value for the career you are pursuing.

About the lesson

Career Interview Preparation Tutor | Former Senior Police Officer
Drawing from my extensive experience as a senior police officer with one of Canada's largest police services, I specialize in helping students master job interviews through proven Behavioural Descriptive Interviewing (BDI) techniques.

What I Offer:
As someone who has both conducted hundreds of interviews and navigated promotional processes throughout my policing career, I understand what employers truly seek. I teach students how to craft compelling, structured responses using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) and help them identify and articulate their key competencies through concrete examples.

My Approach:
Real-world experience: Leverage insights from high-stakes police recruitment and promotional interviews
BDI mastery: Teach students to move beyond generic answers to specific, evidence-based responses
Competency mapping: Help identify transferable skills and experiences that align with target roles
Mock interview practice: Realistic scenarios with constructive feedback
Confidence building: Strategies to manage interview anxiety and present authentically

Perfect For:
New graduates entering the job market
Career changers seeking new opportunities
Professionals pursuing advancement
Anyone facing government, corporate, or public sector interviews

My Approach:
Move beyond generic answers to specific, impactful responses that demonstrate your capabilities. Learn the same interview strategies used in high-stakes police recruitment and apply them to any field.

Whether you're nervous about your first interview or looking to refine your technique for executive positions, I'll help you present your best self with confidence and authenticity.

Ready to turn interviews from stressful encounters into opportunities to shine?
