About Alice
I am a warm, friendly and engaging tutor, with a lot of patience. I recently graduated from Edinburgh University with first class honours in English Literature, and am passionate about the power of literature to fuel, not only imagination, but also intellectual curiosity. For me, self-belief lies at the heart of good teaching, and I see my role as a tutor to help pupils get excited by the subject, making sure every lesson is personalised to each pupils personality. This way, learning is fun and much more effective! I like to find creative ways to approach the lessons and make them accessible, building confidence through encouragement.
I am also a writer and keen musician, playing the piano and oboe to grade 8. In my spare time I’m trying to teach myself jazz improvisation and attempt to get better at surfing…
