About Grace

I am friendly and calm, intelligent and well-spoken. I achieved 9s in Maths, Combined Science, English Lit, Geography, Sociology, History, and Citizenship - which was a GCSE I took early in year 10 and had to teach the majority of the content to myself. I got an 8 in English Language and a 7 in Further Maths. I am a student who struggled with dyslexia and understands how hard it can be to access the language of exams and content for those who think differently, I participated in a lot of speaking events such as debate competitions, speak out challenges and I spoke at LLA meetings - confidence isn’t something I struggle with so I can connect with anyone on a conversational level, this may help your child feel more comfortable and my connection with them will help me understand and teach in a way that benefits your child. I am hard-working and care about helping people and seeing progress happen in an educational system that can feel trapping.

My lessons will be tailored to the child’s needs and will focus on the aim they wish to achieve, they will be taught in depth with alternative ways of thinking and will strive to explain content and how to answer questions - something I struggled with myself was understanding what the question is asking of me, so I have learnt to explain it in altered ways. I have helped my friends in the past and it has been commented that I explain content in a clear manner. I am committed to helping any GCSE student access a higher grade. I am patient and urge the student to come to an answer first rather than just talking at a student. I enjoy seeing students make progress. I would be free on most weekdays past 4:30, and weekends at any time pre 7pm.
