No two lessons are exactly alike but I have figured out a rough template that works for most students. After we have identified the subject area we wish to work on we: 1) Identify current understanding 2) Fill in any gaps in the understanding 3) Test the skill in practice problems 4) Rest 5) More practice You may be thinking that's just a lot of practice! And you'd be right, once you've worked hard to ingrain the skill you must use it or lose it. It's important to be hands on with the content. In the absence of practice, maths skills deteriorate which is why an essential part of my service is the organisational aspect that will bring you into contact with the material in a structured way over time. Spaced repetition is the most powerful tool in studying mathematics which is what makes the organisational aspect so important. I have some experience with home schooling and would feel confident helping someone achieve their GCSEs or A levels outside the traditional school system. So whether you're in a traditional school or learning from home I'm here to help.
