• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I developed an interest in electrical engineering during high school when I was introduced to the fascinating world of physics, circuits and electronics. The idea of understanding and manipulating the flow of electricity to create innovative solutions inspired me. Additionally, my strength in math and physics naturally drew me towards this field. So far it has been interesting and challenging at times, but as usual, school is just there to help guide us as students to make the best of it.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  I am passionate about math, physics, and computer science because they are the languages of understanding the universe and they help greatly in solving real-world problems. The beauty of these subjects lies in their ability to describe complex phenomena and provide eye opening solutions. I always find it amazing when unraveling concepts and helping others see the sense behind what seems to be complex theories.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  What I love about tutoring is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on someone's learning journey. As a student who did well in school, I always ended up helping my partners and friends in the class, and even outside of class. Throughout my years, I have realized that I am efficient in helping others understand concepts that may seem terrifying at first, which is why I began my journey of tutoring. It is a joy to help break down complex topics, theories and problems into pieces and guide students step-by-step until they reach a eureka moment, or that "aha!" moment when everything connects together. My approach of patience and thoroughness ensures that my students not only understand the material but also gain confidence in their abilities to reproduce the solution themselves and understand the concepts more than just the problem. I strive to be a guiding and helpful tutor by fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment, tailoring my approach to each student's unique needs, and continuously refining my teaching methods to maximize effectiveness.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  I have a couple of role models, most of which are teachers, and some students. A teacher that inspired me in many ways was my grade 11 and 12 physics teacher. He was a mechanical engineer beforehand and after class I would just chat with him for a bit on what we are learning in class and how that can be applied in the real world. His passion for teaching and making sure that we understood the concepts being taught was very easy-going and remarkable. Even when the pandemic hit, he made the classroom still as accessible and engaging for everyone by giving us labs, which were difficult, but throughout the concepts that we were learning to life and seeing how it plays out in reality. He also instilled in me the importance of patience, perseverance, and creativity in tackling challenging problems. His dedication to students' success inspired me to pursue tutoring and share my passion for math and science with others.
  I also had a couple of friends and upper years that inspired me to gear into the realm of engineering, especially electrical engineering. Many of them were inspiring me by their projects and works, and even more with how they did their projects using complicated calculations that when broken down eventually make sense. This overall inspired me to dive into electrical engineering and help others as well in the process.

• What are your keys to success?

  My keys to success include dedication, adaptability, and a growth mindset. I believe in setting an acquirable goal, maintaining a strong work ethic, and continually seeking opportunities for self-improvement. I also recognize the importance of adaptability, especially in the ever-evolving fields of math, physics, and computer science. Being open to new ideas, feedback, and approaches allows me to stay relevant and effective as a tutor. Additionally, maintaining a growth mindset helps me navigate challenges with resilience and view setbacks as opportunities for learning and growth. Besides, at the end of the day we are all either students, parents, grandparents, or even toddlers, and every day of our lives we grow and learn from the ever so complicated world around us, thus I want to help those adapt, grow, and learn.
