About Brayleigh
Hi, I’m Brayleigh! I’m a passionate and approachable tutor with a strong background in science (specifically biology and chemistry), and I love helping students connect the dots between what they’re learning and how it fits into the bigger picture. I’m currently a Junior in undergrad, and I’ve spent the last few years working with students of all levels to build confidence, improve grades, and develop strong study habits. I am currently a writing tutor on campus for my undergrad peers! I believe learning should be engaging and empowering, not intimidating. My goal is to create a supportive space where students feel heard, understood, and motivated to grow. Outside of tutoring, I’m into horses (I want to be a Vet), and reading, and I love finding creative ways to make learning feel less like a chore and more like a conversation. Let’s learn together—and make it fun along the way!

As a tutor, my approach is centered around patience, clarity, and adaptability. I believe in meeting students where they are—whether they're struggling to grasp foundational concepts or looking to deepen their understanding—and building a customized path forward.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of the last session, followed by a focused goal for the day (e.g., mastering a key concept, working through practice problems, or prepping for a test). I like to involve the student actively, asking guiding questions and encouraging them to think critically rather than passively absorb information. We’ll wrap up with a quick recap and next steps to reinforce retention.
What sets me apart is my ability to translate abstract ideas into accessible, relatable language and adjust my teaching style depending on how each student learns best—visual, verbal, hands-on, or a mix. I also prioritize creating a safe, judgment-free zone where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My tutoring is best suited for high school and early college students, particularly in STEM courses like biology, general science, algebra, and writing-intensive classes where clear communication is key. Whether you're preparing for an exam or just trying to boost your confidence in class, I tailor every session to help you succeed on your own terms.
students are encouraged to bring what they are working on- such as current problems, homework or review sheets.
