Methodology

I enjoy providing students with resources that are both intellectually challenging as well as fun to complete. This not only allows them to learn and understand the topics being taught but it provides them with a sense of enjoyment and engagement whilst learning. My methods are consistency and high quality- I ensure all my learning materials are of the best quality and approved by Educational Learning boards.

Experience

I am currently at Manchester Metropolitan University, studying Education and Psychology as this is a sector I am interested in and what I would like to possess a career in. All of my experience lie within the children/education sector; I have experience working with children and young people in a classroom setting, at a nursery/childminder.

Rates

Transportation Fee : £6
Rate for online lessons : £15/h
Rate for 5 hours of lessons : £75
Rate for 10 hours of lessons : £150

Details

The rates I charge are for ages 3-13 years old. If you would like me to teach GCSE level maths (14-16), it is a higher hourly rate.
I am able to travel up to a 6-mile radius from my address, anything outside of this will have extra charges.

Peace's CV

I currently man a small team of volunteers within a newly founded charity named, Equal Education Charity; through marketing valuable west African merchandise and by working as a team to devise and design the charity adverts and posters. I am also a Youth Leader at Audacious church, DBS checked and fully trained to work with teens aged 11-18 years. In this role, I teach about life skills such as saving money, friendship, how to handle disappointment and teaching them the importance of mental health. I also have the role of providing resources such as word searches, quizzes, and crosswords related to the topic. In addition, I take on a pastoral role, speaking to any teen who is experiencing trouble settling into the group or if they need someone to talk to; especially for year 7 students who are getting used to a high school environment.
Through working in different settings such as nurseries, primary schools, childcare settings, and church; it has contributed to the startup of my own business, Peace’s Cupcakes. This is a small cupcakes business in Manchester, which has just recently turned 1 years old. I first discovered my passion in baking during high school, this encouraged me to choose Hospitality and Catering, where I was taught how to bake as well as understanding the importance of keeping an excellent level of hygiene. This has encouraged me to become indulged in many entrepreneur clubs and meetings at such as young age; boosting my confidence and my hunger for greatness and success.
During my time in high school and college, I took a leadership position as prefect and as a student ambassador. This has enhanced my communication skills, both listening to others and expressing my opinions, my ability to work within a team successfully and my leadership skills. I would like to think of myself as a born leader; I possess the characteristics and qualities needed to lead a team effectively. Coming from a large, multicultural family; I have grown to be very independent and more confident in my own skill set; this has helped me to be involved in volunteering work with companies such as Hope for Justice and within churches.
Work Experience/ Voluntary work
• January 2012-2015- Signs and Wonders Childcare
I worked with children aged from 5 months to 13 years.
Duties: My role was to create resources for the children within this setting such as painting the play box, mixing the paint to get their desired colors and creating reward charts. I also ensured their needs were met as much as possible by getting feedback from each activity, so we can tailor them to their needs. Most importantly, I and the team of other staff strived to ensure that we created a friendly, conducive and safe for the child, especially for special educational needs children. Additionally, I took on an administrative role; ensuring the parents/careers/visitors signed in and out when they entered the setting. Through this, I was able to thoroughly understand the importance of confidentiality and safety of the children in my care.
• April 2015-May 2015- St Clare's RC Primary school
I worked with children aged 6 – 7 years old.
Duties: My role included typing, printing, photocopying as well as creating resources for the children. This brought out my creative skills as I was asked to draw a cartoon character related to the subject they were studying. My main role was the teacher’s assistant, I worked with the teacher to execute activities and lessons by working with a separate group of children who were struggling.
• June 2016- August 2016- Precious Kids Day Nursery
I worked with children aged 3 months – 5 years old
Duties: My role included office work and administrative work (photocopying storybooks and laminating time table grids). In addition, I took the role of interior designer (decorated the children's bathroom into an under the sea theme). I also performed the duties of a kitchen staff, cooking and preparing the meals with instructions from my supervisor.
• July 31st – August 1st - Psychology Experiment Programme at the University of Manchester
In this programme, as groups, we were given a background of what to expect as a psychologist and we were asked to design our own experiments in groups of 4. From this programme, I learned how to handle the pressures of deadline and how to work effectively in a group with people of different characters as well as presenting our results and the conclusion to the rest of the groups and forming new friendships.
