About Yu

Teaching organic chemistry for 12 years has shown me that even the most dedicated students often hit a wall with concepts like isomerism or curved-arrow notation. I admit that navigating mechanisms and aromatic chemistry requires a specific kind of patience that does not always come easily in a crowded lecture hall. My role is to break down complex functional groups and retrosynthesis into manageable steps that make sense to the individual learner. I focus on helping students gain confidence with alcohols, ethers, and elimination reactions so they can eventually handle difficult problems independently.

About the lesson

Starting our time together involves a diagnostic test before we set the plan to ensure we target your exact gaps. This initial assessment allows me to see how you approach mechanism drawing and where your logic falters.

Because I have 5 years of experience, I know how to pace our work so you remain engaged without feeling overwhelmed by the subject matter. We move through the curriculum in a way that respects your cognitive load while building lasting skills.

I structure the flow of our conversation to be flexible yet methodical enough to produce consistent results. This 8.0 ranking in my approach reflects the clarity I bring to these sessions. Independent problem solving is the ultimate goal.
