About Jessica
I am a University of Pretoria Graduate with a bachelors degree in teaching (senior phase and FET.) I am currently completing a TEFL course in order to teach English to foreign students. I am a passionate educator and enjoy imparting my knowledge onto students. I love people and enjoy making individuals have a more positive view on learning as learning can be fun. I am easy going and easy to talk.

I start my lessons by having discussions, debates or Q&As with my students. This allows me to gage what my students know and ultimately get to know more about them as it is important to have an insight as to who they are as individuals. I then decide which teaching style suits the particular student best. My overall teaching style is to combine learner-centered and teacher-centered methodologies.
My lessons will be taught in English, however my Afrikaans is not too shabby so I will be able to translate if need be.
Students can expect to have a relaxed yet structured lesson where they can feel safe to make mistakes and feel confident to ask me anything when needing help.
When giving English lessons my expertise are aimed at 6y/o-16y/o.
When giving Tourism lessons my expertise are aimed at 14y/o-18y/o.
I also offer conversational lessons where students who are not fluent in English can come and have relaxed conversations about currents affairs, podcasts or TED talks. I will correct tenses or pronunciations during the discussions. Anyone of any age will be helped.
