About Varun
With a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and experience as a teaching assistant, process engineer, and researcher, I bring both deep subject knowledge and real-world application to every lesson I teach. My approach is all about building confidence and independent thinking. I don’t just give answers—I guide students to understand how and why, helping them solve problems on their own. Whether you're stuck on a tricky math problem, trying to grasp electrochemical concepts, or aiming to sharpen your engineering fundamentals, I’m here to make those “aha!” moments happen. Let me be your Aha guru !!

My teaching style is student-centered and adaptive. I start by engaging in a dialogue to understand the student’s goals, current level, and learning style. I then present carefully selected problems to assess their strengths and identify areas for improvement. I emphasize: - Conceptual understanding over rote learning - Interactive problem-solving with Socratic questioning - Encouraging curiosity by connecting lessons to real-world or advanced topics Each lesson follows a structured flow: 1. Initial check-in – Discuss any questions from recent school lessons or assignments 2. Concept revision and clarification – Tackle weak spots through targeted discussion 3. Custom problem set – Solve a curated set of exercises prepared by me to reinforce and challenge understanding. 4. Discussion segment – End with an open discussion or brainstorming session on current advancements or applications in the subject (e.g., recent discoveries, new technology) Middle and high school students who need help with the following subjects are encouraged to reach out: - Mathematics - Chemistry (including electrochemistry) - Chemical engineering fundamentals (Thermodynamics, Kinetics, Mass & Heat transfer) Undergraduate engineering students: I offer lessons in the above subjects on a case-by-case basis, depending on course content and requirements.
