About Anthony
I thrive in an environment that keeps me busy and engaged with individuals, especially in mentoring youth. Experience working with young leaders at a global level and developing inclusive, intercultural teams to perform at high levels of academic scholarship. I am a global scholar myself, and have studied around the world, Oxford, Portugal, Barcelona, and Austria as a Gilman International Scholar I have worked directly with first-generation undergraduate and graduate students at the University of California, Berkeley, and San Diego State University with resource opportunities, educational planning, counseling, financial aid resources, and housing resources. I have cultivated connections with a variety of resource outlets to assist students with opportunities to study abroad through the U.S. Department of State and Foreign Office, Oxford Study Abroad Program, the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship program, and the Critical Language Learning scholarship program and in counseling students throughout the processes of applying/interviewing/securing recommendations/LOR.

I use a Pedagogy that encourages students to be a part of their education through collaboration as opposed to traditional education systems.
Particularly the "banking model" where teachers passively deposit knowledge into students, and instead I like to teach in a way that advocates for a "problem-posing" approach that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and active participation among my students to achieve self-sovereignty by developing a critical consciousness skills.
I believe education should be a tool for students to challenge and transform themselves rather than simply accepting whatever knowledge had been passed down for generations.
I have studied at universities and institutes around the world and have led international teams of students at global youth conferences aimed at leveling the educational field and promoting International Security and Conflict Resolution. Teams from Spain, Italy, Estonia, Ukraine, Brazil, Portugal, South Korea, Turkey, Lebanon, Iran, Canada, Australia, the U.K., Denmark, Germany, Morocco, Ghana, South Africa, and India
