About Valtie
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 10 years experience of teaching violin and piano both privately and in schools. My pupils range from complete beginners to university students preparing for exams. I have experience at teaching children of all abilities including learning difficulties such as dyslexia.

Hello! I am a professional violinist currently taking on some private pupils at my home in Charlton near Greenwich, SE London. I incorporate principles from a number of teaching methods tailored to each individuals needs and learning style in order to give my pupils a rounded musical education.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach violin to advanced level and piano up to approx. grade 4 standard.
I also incorporate teaching music theory into the lessons.

MMus in violin performance with Distinction from Trinity College of Music
BMus 1st class honours degree from Trinity College of Music
FTCL violin performance diploma
Violin - ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction
- How much do you charge?
Violin - £45 per hour, £35 for 45 minutes and £25 for half an hour
Piano - £45 per hour, £35 for 45 minutes and £25 for half an hour
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my home which is a 5 minute walk from Charlton station, SE London and near the 486, 380, 53, 54, 422, 472, 177, 180 and 161 bus routes.
There is also free parking.
- When are you available?
My teaching days are flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Violin - I teach all ages and levels from beginner to advanced
Piano - beginner up to approx. grade 4
My youngest students are currently 4 years old on both violin and piano.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to prepare pupils for ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall exams as well as regional music festivals and concerts.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am passionate about music and about passing this on to my students. I expect my students to be committed in order to get the most out of the lessons.
