About Mzuvelile

Hi! I’m a second-year Civil Engineering student at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Because engineering relies heavily on advanced mathematics, I live and breathe math every single day.
I achieved an A in Matric under the CAPS syllabus. Having gone through the high school system recently, I know exactly what examiners look for, how stressful Matric finals can be, and how easy it is to fall behind when a teacher moves too fast.
My goal is to bridge the gap between classroom confusion and exam confidence. I am highly patient, relatable, and dedicated to helping high school learners unlock their potential and realize that math doesn't have to be intimidating.
My tutoring approach is structured, interactive, and tailored to how the student learns best. I don’t believe in just memorizing formulas; I focus on understanding the underlying logic. Here is how our sessions work:
Foundation Check: We identify specific problem areas, whether it's algebra, trigonometry, analytical geometry, or calculus.
Step-by-Step Breakdown: I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps, using engineering-based practical analogies where helpful to make abstract concepts concrete.
Active Problem Solving: Instead of just watching me do the work, the student actively solves problems during the lesson so I can correct their logic in real-time.
Exam & Past Paper Mastery: We focus heavily on past IEB/CAPS NSC exam papers to teach time management, question-spotting, and exam techniques.

As a Civil Engineering student, mathematics is my daily language. I don’t believe in just memorizing formulas; I focus on teaching the core logic behind them so you can tackle even the trickiest exam questions.
