About Julian
I am an enthusiastic Saxophone tutor with 11 years of professional teaching experience. I have had the opportunity to teach nearly 150 students at various skill levels, helping them build strong musical foundations and confidence.
My teaching approach is student-centered. I begin with essential fundamentals like posture, breathing, embouchure control, scales, and rhythm accuracy. Once students are comfortable, I introduce advanced techniques such as improvisation, dynamics, phrasing, and performance skills.
I adapt each lesson to match the student’s learning speed and interests. Communication is very important to me, and I ensure that every concept is clearly explained and demonstrated. I also integrate music theory, ear training, and sight-reading to develop complete musicianship.
I expose students to different genres such as jazz, classical, and contemporary styles to broaden their musical understanding. One of my strengths is motivating students to practice consistently and set achievable goals. I focus on building discipline, creativity, and confidence.

My Saxophone teaching methodology is built on strong Communication, Accountability, and Integrity to ensure steady and meaningful progress. I begin by evaluating the student’s current skill level and musical interests, then design a structured learning plan.
I focus first on fundamentals such as posture, breath control, embouchure formation, tone production, and fingering accuracy. I explain each concept clearly and demonstrate techniques step-by-step. Students are given weekly exercises including scales, rhythm drills, articulation practice, and performance pieces.
Accountability is maintained through consistent practice goals and regular progress reviews. I provide honest and constructive feedback to help students improve confidently. With integrity, I emphasize correct technique and disciplined practice.
In addition to Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Sight Reading, Jazz fundamentals, and Improvisation to develop well-rounded musicianship.
