About Matthew
I have been playing drums for around 15 years coming from a background of musicians and teachers. and for the last 7 years, I have been passing on my knowledge to so many of my students. I have a Bachelor of early childhood teaching where I specialized in music. I have been fortunate in my career thus far to play in many bands, musicals, and recordings spanning from West Side Story, to Jazz ensembles, and drumming for so many HSC performances I have lost count!

My methodology is that drumming is a skill that teaches you many valuable lessons both on and off the drumkit. It helps teach discipline, motivation, and conviction which are values you can take into the world around you. My lesson structure is based on teaching a balance of theory, practical, Technique, and of cause FUN! ! I encourage and push you to new heights and give you a toolbox of techniques and approaches that can help reach any goals you have set. I know each and every one of my students is unique and as a teacher, I see it as my goal to realise your uniquness and make drums a way of expressing this.
