About Anoushka
With over five years of teaching experience, I specialise in helping students become stronger writers, more confident thinkers, and more successful applicants. My students have improved grades, raised standardised test scores, and gained admission to competitive schools and universities in both the UK and the US.
I hold a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from New York University and am currently pursuing a Master's degree at King's College London. Having worked with students from a variety of academic backgrounds, I have seen that every student learns differently, which is why I focus on building confidence, developing strong study habits, and helping students gain a deeper understanding of their subjects
I believe students perform best when they feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and learning from mistakes. My lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student's goals. I have over 5 years of experience tutoring students in IB, GCSE, AP English, SAT reading and writing, French, and UK/US university admissions essays. I hold a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from NYU and am currently pursuing an MA at King's College London.
My teaching approach is highly personalised. I begin by identifying a student's strengths, weaknesses, and goals, then create targeted lesson plans to build both subject knowledge and confidence. I encourage students to take an active role in their learning journey, creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.
I focus on active learning through discussion, guided practice, exam techniques, essay feedback, and critical thinking. My aim is not only to help students succeed in the short term but also to teach effective strategies that they can apply repeatedly across subjects, exams, and future academic challenges.
My lessons are typically 60-120 minutes but during exam periods, I do my best to be readily available to support students with additional guidance, questions, and revision planning when needed.
I work with secondary school and university applicants, helping students improve grades, boost test scores, strengthen writing skills, and gain admission to competitive schools and universities.
