About Winifred
"Writing songs is often less about talent and more about the discipline of editing and rewriting. Most people assume that great lyrics arrive in a flash of lightning.
I started writing by tearing apart my own drafts to see how the joints moved. My 8 years of experience have shown me how storytelling in songs really functions.
I have worked with 157 students to sharpen their melodic phrasing and title and concept development. It is a process of constant iteration and clear decision making.
I help hobbyists and singer-songwriters find the core of their narrative. Career switchers and beginners often struggle with writing over chords until they see the structure. We look at melody writing as a way to clarify your intent.
I enjoy watching the pieces click together for my students. That is how the work gets done."

"Finished songs start with a single spark. Melody writing is pure magic when you get it right. I use my BMus background to help you structure your ideas into something cohesive. We spend time on lyric writing and title and concept development.
You might find that storytelling in songs is actually quite simple once you stop overthinking it. My 8 years of experience mean I know exactly when to push you and when to let an idea breathe. Just get the chorus hooked and the rest will follow."
