About Tayla

I’m a recent VCE graduate with a strong academic background in English. English was my highest performing subject, where I achieved results well above the state average, including an A+ on my final exam and a high study score.

Having recently completed VCE myself, I understand exactly how demanding and high-pressure the subject can feel. I know what assessors are looking for, how marking criteria works, and the small adjustments that can move a student from average responses into A-range work. I had really bad anxiety during exams and SACs, and I want to help students who also struggle because I know it can be hard, but never impossible. I never thought I would do well, and now I’m at university studying medicine. I want to help you too.

I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence in a subject that often feels overwhelming. During VCE, I realized that success in English isn’t about being “naturally gifted,” it’s about understanding structure, clarity, and how to respond strategically to prompts.

My goal is to share the techniques and systems that helped me achieve strong results, and to support students in developing both skill and confidence. I aim to create a positive, focused environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves.

English is the most important subject for your ATAR, it is the subject that will always be the top towards your ATAR result. I want to help students use their newfound ability in English to skyrocket their ATAR.

I’m passionate about helping students not only improve their SAC and exam results, but also feel capable and in control of their learning.

VCE English isn’t about being “good at writing.” It’s about understanding exactly what assessors are looking for, and learning how to deliver it clearly and consistently.

My approach focuses on breaking VCE English into a system students can actually follow.

In our sessions, we work on:

• Understanding assessment criteria (so there’s no guessing)
• Building strong, flexible essay structures
• Developing sophisticated analysis — not just retelling the story
• Learning how to embed evidence smoothly
• Writing introductions and conclusions that stand out

I help students move from “this sounds okay” to “this is clearly A-range.”

One of the biggest challenges in VCE is confidence under pressure. Many students know more than they think, they just struggle to organise their ideas or write with clarity in timed conditions. I focus heavily on building that confidence through guided practice, rewriting, and structured feedback.

My sessions are supportive but high-standard. I give clear, honest feedback and practical strategies students can immediately apply in SACs and exams.

The goal isn’t just to improve writing, it’s to help students feel in control of the subject.

When you understand the structure behind VCE English, it becomes far less overwhelming, and much more achievable.
