About Hugh
I am a 4th year chemistry student looking to teach my first student. Being a Chemistry student you would think my first choice subject to teach would be Chemistry, however I feel most comfortable teaching Maths and would like to use the experience gained from this to springboard me into teaching other subjects. I have always enjoyed Maths, having always learnt new areas of the subject throughout all levels of my education.

I am looking to start by giving lessons at the GCSE level. I would like to ask in advance of lessons what areas of the subject my tutee is struggling with and/or would like to improve at. This could involve being shown some questions they might have been asked to complete. Using this I would clarify my understanding of the subject so that I can explain any queries to the tutee in the clearest possible manner. I hope that the lesson could start by addressing any main areas of difficulty that the tutee is experiencing with the subject. From here I would like to start attempting questions of increasing difficulty, giving the tutee increasing confidence to tackle the problems alone. I pride myself on my understanding and ability to explain things as clearly as possible, and hope to use this in my lessons.
