About Life
I am a UC Davis senior studying English with a minor in creative writing, and I've had a background of tutoring English since I was a freshman. I tutored for three good years prior to transferring to UC Davis. It was an educational experience for me, taught students how to construct their essays: Organize paragraphs, research their desired topic, work on their thesis. I joined a Peer led Tutoring program, where I organized private studying sessions with my tutees and created lessons. .

My teaching method is constantly asking students question's so they can exercise their own creativity into their own work. I like to encourage my students to research and contemplate before they start writing, so they can have confidence in their own ideas and writing. And then before we venture into the paragraphs, we start working on the thesis, the main claim or idea of the essay. It's always good to jump into the thesis first because it gives you an idea of what you're writing about, what you're going to be tackling in the essay. And then finally, I choose to examine a paragraph with my tutees, where I underline the topic sentence and allow them to read the whole paragraph and examine if it's on the same track as the topic sentence.
