About Hareem
I’m Hareem, an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 10 years of teaching and curriculum leadership experience in Canada, the UK, and the Middle East. I specialize in English Literature, Essay Writing, and Academic Coaching for high school (IB, IGCSE, Ontario curriculum) and undergraduate and graduate level students. My background includes serving as Head of English & Social Studies, where I guided diverse learners to excel in coursework and achieve top exam results. I also hold a Master’s degree in English Literature, with expertise in critical analysis, postcolonial studies, and advanced writing. What sets me apart is my student-centered approach — I don’t just teach content, I mentor students to build confidence, independence, and strategies for long-term success. Many of my students have gone on to gain admission to leading universities worldwide. Skill Building: Lessons focus on developing core skills in essay writing, critical thinking, and literary analysis. Exam Strategies: For IB/IGCSE students, I emphasize timed practice, mark-scheme strategies, and building confidence for assessments. University Prep: For students applying to higher education, I provide coaching in personal statements, interview skills, and academic writing. Mentorship: Beyond academics, I help students build independence, self-confidence, and effective study strategies. Format: One-on-one (online, flexible with time zones). Levels: IB, IGCSE, Ontario curriculum (Grades 9–12), University writing. By the end of each lesson, students leave with clear takeaways, practical tools, and renewed confidence in their academic journey.
