I am currently doing my A Levels. I am in Year 13, and I achieved all Grade As or A*s (7,8,9s) for my GCSEs. My predicted A Level grades are A*AAA. I particularly enjoy English Literature and find myself attaining good grades in the subject, which is why I chose to teach it. Lessons with me would comprise of a starter activity, then to be followed by the bulk content of the lesson. I will allocate homework depending on how much work is done during the lesson, but there will always be a set amount of homework, which I will add to if necessary. For my first lesson, I will provide a test of some exam-style questions in order to determine what writing techniques need to be improved. I prefer interactive learning, whereby the student must actively take part in their learning. However, my teaching methods can be altered depending on what the student finds most effective. If a student is determined to learn, I believe that I can help them gain good results whether it be in the 11+ Grammar School exams, or for their GCSEs.
I have worked for a tuition company for two years, where I teach English and Maths to primary school students. I have tutored groups of 3-7 children at a time. I have not privately tutored students before, but the students whom I worked with as part of the tuition all attend Grammar Schools. I also taught English (reading and writing) to underprivileged children when I visited an orphanage in Bosnia.
If you would like me to provide materials (books, textbooks, workbooks, revision guides) the price of those items will also be added. If not, I can provide you with a list of what must be purchased. I will provide print-outs and photocopies free of charge.
I am an A Level student, currently in my AS year. I am studying English, Sociology, Psychology and Chemistry. I have developed good speaking and listening skills through the multiple public speaking workshops I have participated in. I have also developed key communications skills throughout my work experience placement at West Middlesex Hospital and Whistles (clothing store) as well as my volunteering experience at The British Heart Foundation. My determination is highlighted by my achievement of a ‘gold’ badge in swimming as well as competing for Hillingdon County. I have also developed my skills with children on a trip to Bosnia, where I volunteered at an orphanage and lived with underprivileged children for 2 weeks. Additionally, I raised over £400 for the orphanage by participating in The Youth Cycle Sports Marathon.
