About Timothy
I am Timothy, a practising artist and qualified art teacher based in London, with a first-class BA in Art & Design and a first-class MA. Alongside my studio practice, I teach Art and Photography at GCSE and A Level, supporting students through coursework, exams, and portfolio development.
I teach because I enjoy helping students develop confidence in their own ideas and ways of working. I focus on building strong technical foundations while encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression.
I work with GCSE and A Level students, as well as those preparing portfolios for college and university applications, offering clear and supportive guidance tailored to each stage of their development.

I take a supportive, practical approach to tutoring that helps students build both technical skill and creative confidence. My teaching focuses on drawing, painting, photography, sketchbook development, and portfolio building, with guidance tailored to each student’s needs and exam requirements. I encourage experimentation alongside structured learning so students develop their own ideas and visual language.
Lessons are typically 1–2 hours and are adapted for GCSE and A Level students, as well as younger learners and adults.
I hold a first-class BA in Art & Design and a first-class MA, and I currently teach Art and Photography at GCSE and A Level in London. Alongside teaching, I maintain an active studio practice, which informs my teaching with contemporary approaches and professional insight.
Timothy can also provide GCSE and A Level support, as well as portfolio advice for college and university applications.
