About Ann
Hello! I'm an experienced tutor with a passion for teaching that's driven by the tangible impact I've witnessed over my 2 years of tutoring. I've had the privilege of guiding students in English, Math, Biology, Piano, and Music. I've seen them achieve remarkable results, with some even receiving early entry offers to top universities. As an HSC all-rounder with Band 6 results in all of my subjects, including English Extension 1, English Advanced, Math Extension 1, Math Advanced, Music 1, Biology, and Studies of Religion 1, I understand the dedication and effort required to excel academically. I was also part of the accelerated stream for Math Advanced, which allowed me to delve deeper into the subject and develop a strong foundation in advanced mathematical concepts. I'm now a dedicated student at UNSW, where I maintain a distinction average and genuinely enjoy my degree, particularly the thrill of problem-solving and the excitement of tackling complex challenges. I'm eager to share my academic experiences, insights, and passion for learning with my students. In addition to my academic achievements, I hold a certificate in performance from the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and am a certified piano instructor, highlighting my expertise in music and piano. My approach to tutoring is deeply rooted in the satisfaction of helping students overcome academic challenges while fostering a love for learning and problem-solving. I take pride in fostering strong connections with my students and guiding them towards success in their academic and musical pursuits. As your tutor, I bring a professional commitment to your learning journey and the expertise to help you reach your full potential in these subjects. Together, we can explore the fascinating world of problem-solving, nurturing your skills and igniting your passion for learning.

Hello! I'm deeply dedicated to helping high school students excel in Mathematics with a comprehensive and specialized teaching approach. Here's a detailed look at my methods, grounded in math-specific strategies and terminology:
Mathematical Mastery: I prioritize honing students' mathematical skills, focusing on techniques such as problem-solving strategies, theorem application, and mathematical reasoning. This ensures that they not only excel in math but also develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
Mathematical Problem Solving: For those interested in advanced problem-solving, I guide students through the intricacies of tackling complex mathematical challenges. We explore various problem-solving techniques, from algebraic manipulation to geometric proofs. Students develop their problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and mathematical reasoning, crucial for excelling in mathematics.
Advanced Mathematics: Our journey includes a deep dive into advanced mathematical concepts, delving into topics like calculus, algebra, and statistics. Students become proficient in handling complex mathematical problems, learning to articulate their solutions with precision.
Mathematical Vocabulary: A strong mathematical vocabulary is essential for precise expression in the world of mathematics. I actively work with students to expand their mathematical lexicon, focusing on contextual word usage, connotations, and nuances. This enhances their ability to articulate mathematical ideas with sophistication.
Mathematical Notation and Symbols: We leave no room for confusion by emphasizing the correct usage of mathematical notation and symbols. Students learn to communicate mathematical ideas clearly and effectively, ensuring their mathematical solutions are polished and articulate.
Problem-Solving Techniques: Developing effective problem-solving skills is central to our approach. This involves understanding problem statements, identifying appropriate mathematical tools, and creating coherent solutions. Students gain the ability to tackle mathematical challenges with confidence.
Flexible Sessions: Each tutoring session is tailored to individual learning needs and pace, providing a personalized learning experience that suits each student's specific requirements.
Qualifications: My academic background includes impressive achievements, including Band 6 results in mathematics. I am currently studying Mechatronics Engineering at UNSW, offering a unique blend of analytical thinking and mathematical expertise.
For Whom: High school students aspiring to elevate their math skills, whether in problem-solving, advanced mathematical concepts, or mathematical notation.
I am genuinely committed to delivering a supportive and enriching learning experience that fosters mathematical growth and a true passion for mathematics. Ready to embark on this mathematical journey with precision? Schedule your first session, and let's get started!

I met Ann when I desperately needed support for my daughter who was struggling with her HSC English.
In a very short time, Ann was able to give my daughter essay writing skills, HSC tips and most importantly the confidence to complete her HSC English ATAR exam.
Ann gets to know the students' needs and goals, plans ahead for the sessions and wastes no time getting the student up to speed to achieve personal goals.
I am grateful for everything Ann did to help my daughter gain confidence, improve her self-esteem and give her the skills to do her best.
I highly recommend Ann for anyone who wants to help their child to do their best.
Thank you, Ann.

Ann has tutored my daughter throughout her senior years of high school in Math and I have found her to be extremely experienced, trustworthy and well prepared for all of her lessons. Ann has also assisted my daughter with other subjects as required.
Ann is kind, caring, professional and flexible and was able to create a high-level lesson plan that suited the specific needs of my daughter.
With Ann's expert tutoring my daughter has received an early offer admission to college next year to pursue her love of nursing.
Whether your child is a high achiever or a student with specific needs, I recommend Ann as your tutor.
Will never forget that time Ann stayed up late with me to provide very detailed feedback for my assignment before I submitted it. It was super last minute because I was so overwhelmed by my workload and I probably apologised like 1000 times but she was so reassuring and didn't make me feel bad at all. She definitely means it when she tells you to use her a resource and that she will always be happy to support you!!!!
I knew Ann because I was familiar with her high school and she had already established a pretty accomplished reputation there. Most of her peers only ever had good things to say about her and she was my most involved and passionate mentor. I've gotta acknowledge the fact that, even though the mentorship program was unpaid and entirely volunteer work, Ann spent a LOT of time (and I meant a LOT!) making whole new resources tailored just for me and she definitely revolutionised my whole perspective of maths. The detailed diagrams and explanations with punny comments every now and then definitely allowed her unique teaching approach to shine through and I am so glad I met her at the time that I did because I must say she has every right to say she played a big role in successfully building my foundational skills to prep for my HSC. She genuinely cares, and I don't think you see that a lot nowadays.
Ann is an amazing English tutor. Essays used to give me a headache, especially figuring out the right structure and meeting NESA's requirements for each module. But Ann patiently guided me through it all. She clarified how to organise my ideas and align them with NESA guidelines. If you're grappling with English essays, Ann is the tutor you need. Highly recommend!
Ann is an amazing math tutor. When a major test was approaching, and I was feeling overwhelmed, she provided me with invaluable tips and boosted my confidence. Thanks to her guidance, I've gained much more confidence in dealing with maths. I highly recommend Ann if you're in need of a great math tutor!
Ann is an amazing tutor! She made English enjoyable and significantly improved my grades. With her help, I even secured an early entry offer to the University of Sydney. What's great about Ann is that she goes beyond just teaching. She helped with my university application, explaining bonus points and scholarships. She truly cares about your success, both in academics and beyond. I highly recommend Ann for anyone seeking an inspiring tutor who genuinely cares about their students.
So so understanding when you don't pick up a concept straightaway. On top of that, she's def a smartie and knows her stuff. I first heard about her because she got such a high ATAR at the school I used to go to and was the only one who made it into this really prestigious uni scholarship program. I wanted to get into the same program so I reached out to her for advice. I've tried a bunch of tutors and a lot of them were kinda suffocating because they were so formal, but Ann is really friendly and lessons with her are such a safe and comfortable space to say absolutely anything that comes to mind!! I've never felt so okay with making mistakes before because Ann always ALWAYS ALWAYS stresses how it's important for constant learning and improvement. If you want someone who genuinely ACTUALLY cares about making sure you don't get burnt out during the HSC, I'd def recommend Ann.
Was referred by one of Ann’s students, a close friend of mine at my old tutoring centre. Got tired of the toxic competition so tried private tutoring out. Will never get over that one time she stayed up late editing my essay assignment one time because I finished it last minute the night before and wasn’t feeling confident. Scored a 19/20 thanks to her help (my average used to be 10/20)
I know Ann because she’s friends with my older sister from UNSW. I’d always heard good things about her, like how she could play a bunch of instruments and won some piano competitions.
My interest in piano was never that consistent because I felt forced to learn classical music and my parents were under the impression that classical music was the only way to actually be a good pianist. Ann told them other options were available, like the Leisure course under AMEB which is the one I’m taking. She’s probably the most
patient teacher I’ve ever had because no matter how many times I mess up (and become impatient myself), she is always happy to try it again and give very thoughtful feedback.
I’ve gone through over 3 piano teachers in the past but I am so so so glad I met Ann because I can finally proudly say I’m a pianist!Miss Ann is very very kind and supports me a lot. I was having a really hard time catching up for maths at school and just felt really defeated. But Miss comes up with all these really cool diagrams to make topics I didn’t understand before suddenly seem so straightforward. I know she dedicates a lot of extra time and effort to prepare slideshows and quizzes and worksheets and a whole lot more and I will always be super duper thankful for her help.
Ann is very understanding and can be professional but still easy to talk to.
She tutors me weekly for English and all her lessons have been engaging, interactive and her tips or explanations are all very helpful.
Ann is also an accomodating person since she is open to any suggestions or criticism, though it is hard to find any.
Great tutor, would recommend. She’s so patient. So incredibly patient, and she explains things thoroughly without making you feel ashamed if you don’t know something yet. In her classes shes very interactive with all her students and doesn’t hold favourites. She also has a great knowledge in her field of teaching.
Hey, I'm Mason, and I can't thank Ann enough for her help in Year 11. Math used to be a real headache for me in class. Ann, though, broke it down step by step, even going back to the basics. I didn't realize how many gaps I had until she helped me fill them.
Financial concepts used to baffle me, but Ann first revised Algebra with me, and suddenly, things clicked. She's not just a tutor; she's a game-changer. If you're struggling with math, I highly recommend Ann. She makes even the toughest stuff feel manageable.Hey there! I just had to drop a shoutout to Ann for being an absolute lifesaver during our time in tertiary schooling. During college, I hit a rough patch with some classes, and Ann was really helpful.
What's cool about Ann is her dedication. She'd prep lesson plans and explain things in different ways until it clicked. Even though we weren't doing formal tutoring, she put in the effort.
Ann's smart, no doubt, but what I appreciate most is her patience and genuine care for helping others succeed.
So, if you're on the hunt for a tutor who's not just book-smart but also 110% committed to your success, Ann's your go-to. Seriously, give her a shout – you won't regret it!View more recommendations
