About Rachel
I was a chef for many years before switching careers and moving into education. I worked as an educational assistant while completing my courses to become a teacher. I have completed my Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg and I hold a Manitoba teaching license.
Some other certificates and qualifications I hold are:
- A Red Seal Certificate in Culinary Arts
- Vocational Teaching Diploma
- Certificate in UEB Braille (contracted and uncontracted)

I personalize lesson to meet each student's individual needs and interests. If you don't understand at first I will use a different method or way of explaining the content so my students have different ways to interact with content and ways of thinking about it.
I want to be personable, I will first ask every student how they are doing at the beginning of the lesson. In my tutoring sessions, the students can present the areas that they are struggling with. I have many resources and teaching techniques that help fill the learning gaps students may have. I provide feedback throughout the lesson and a feedback summary at the end of each lesson so students can see their progress and know what they may work on next to continue their learning.
I have a lot experience teaching students ages 12 - 18.
