About Sophie
With 7+ years of experience and an MSc in Operations Research, I guide students through the fascinating world of financial mathematics. My teaching blends theory with practice, especially in interest rates, investments, and risk analysis. Mathematics is most powerful when connected to real problems, so I use case studies and economic data to make learning engaging. Students discover how models are built to forecast outcomes and assess financial strategies. By working with real-world numbers, lessons become meaningful and memorable. My goal is to make abstract equations feel concrete and useful. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically. Over time, they learn to see math as a decision-making tool. Financial modeling sessions highlight how mathematics directly influences business and economic choices. Clarity, patience, and application are at the center of my teaching. I aim to equip students with knowledge that creates both confidence and skills. Together, we can uncover how math drives the financial world.

The teaching approach is centered on connecting mathematics with real financial literacy. Lessons cover interest calculations, investment analysis, and budgeting skills. Students learn through simple step-by-step methods. Real-life examples are used to show how math shapes financial choices. Mathematical models explain growth, risk, and returns clearly. Practice problems help students understand both theory and application. Confidence grows as they calculate savings, plan budgets, or compare investments. Case studies bring learning closer to reality. Advanced students, including coders and Olympiad aspirants, get support in sharpening problem-solving skills. Critical thinking is encouraged in every lesson. The aim is to make math practical and enjoyable. Students learn how numbers drive financial decision-making. Each lesson builds both knowledge and confidence for future success.
