About Dominic
I have always been very curious and interested in Science, and in studies that explains the inner workings of the world around me, and therefore, always knew I'd study Biology. However, as time went by, my increasing contact with teaching throughout college made me realize that the best way to learn is by teaching, and I became increasingly dedicated and commited to learn how to teach.
When I started my degree in teaching, the most important aspect I considered became guiding my students' learning, side by side, always trying to learn from them along the way - after all, I am also a student.
This exchange of knowledge, through personalized classes and educational materials, allows you to understand and reproduce concepts and topics more easily, in a welcoming and respectful environment that encourages your strengths and recognizes your limitations, developing means and methods to overcome them.

As someone who is studying for both research and teaching degrees, I apply a rational and patient methodology in my classes - always encouraging the student to trust their own knowledge, and remaining attentive to the limitations presented, looking for the best ways to overcome them.
I believe it is essential that the topics are learned and internalized through personalized classes and preparatory exercises, making it easier for the students to understand and reproduce the concepts, instead of just memorizing them.
I have had technical training in Biotechnology and am majoring with a double degree (masters and major) in research and teaching Biology at PUC-Rio. I speak fluent in English and have graduated from IBEU, as well as worked in translating texts and tutoring/support classes in English and Biology for elementary school students.
Currently, I am a TA (Teacher's Assistant) in high school and elementary school Biology classes.
