About Luke
I'm a recent Biology BA graduate from Pepperdine University. I graduated with honors and have experience in most biology fields––microbiology, physiology, cell bio, genetics, ecology. I also engaged in multiple public health and microbiology projects during my undergraduate years and was able to present original research at conferences in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Canada. These research experiences have helped my teaching, since I can apply the biological and statistical concepts that we learn in class to real-world situations. I'm stoked to be here and teach!

My lessons are very interactive! My previous students would say our sessions are more of a conversation and Q&A about the subject. I begin by asking students their current understanding, and then I help to fill in gaps along the way. As a nontraditional student I'm used to the academic environment feeling unfamiliar (and maybe a bit scary!), which is why I celebrate the progress my students make and tutor in a judgment-free way. I believe it takes a lot of strength and courage to ask for help, and I want to reciprocate that through my support. I view every mistake as a growth opportunity and way to improve!
