About Hollis
Microscopes clicked into place and the smell of sterile lab glass defined my early days in science. Spending 9 years teaching biology helped me recognize the exact moments when pupils hit a wall. Understanding physiology, molecular biology, and human anatomy requires bridging the gap between textbook theory and the physical world.
I have guided hundreds of students through the nervous system, homeostasis, and metabolic pathways while maintaining a calm pace. My background includes mastering the circulatory system, mitosis, meiosis, and biological drawing to ensure scientific methods remain clear. What specific topics in biology are currently slowing down your progress?

Concept comprehension precedes memorization in my pedagogical approach. Explanations remain grounded in reality because biology is the study of life itself.
My MS Biology degree from UCLA informs how I connect classroom abstract ideas to observable natural phenomena. 9 years of experience taught me to prioritize targeted practice that cements knowledge firmly.
Lessons often utilize diagrams or real world analogies to simplify difficult pathways for anyone struggling. I find joy in seeing students move from confusion to clarity within a few weeks of consistent work. This structured environment ensures that the time we spend together is highly productive.
