About Joanne
I am an experienced teacher with a real passion for supporting children to reach their full potential. As an English graduate, I have always had a genuine love for the subject and enjoy teaching both language and literature. I have tutored children on the cusp of making the transition to secondary school, as well as those looking for extra support with their GCSEs.

I have a discursive approach to teaching English based on sharpening students' critical thinking skills to support their textual analysis, comprehension and cohesive writing. I combine close reading practice with broader contextual literary study. I have read widely and have an excellent knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling. My lessons are typically 45-60 minutes long depending on the student's level and requirements. I tutor KS2 and GCSE students (AQA board preferred).
