About Sonali
I am a published poet and essayist. I have also worked in media companies like Reuters and the Economist. I have an MFA in Creative Writing from City University, Hong Kong and an MA in Linguistics from Delhi University. I love to read and am equally comfortable writing about Poetry, as I am writing about Science. For the past 5 years I have been working as a language teacher.

My youngest writing student is 11 years old and the oldest is about 46. With younger students I have a more hands on approach. We discuss the genre the student will write, read and discuss relevant texts and then talk about how the student will express his or her ideas. After the writing is done, we go over it and work on it till the student and I are proud of what he or she has accomplished. That gives the student confidence and the desire to write better.
With older students we work on analysis using examples and have feedback sessions. We might brush up vocabulary and/or grammar if required.
