About Gurleen

I am a patient, dedicated and creative tutor who is passionate about helping children learn in a way that feels supportive, engaging and encouraging. I believe every student deserves to feel confident in their abilities, and I always aim to create a calm and positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, developing new skills and learning at their own pace.

I have valuable experience working with children through tutoring, mentoring, leadership roles in school, Sikh camp during half term, and as an art assistant. These roles have helped me build strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt my approach to suit different ages, personalities and learning styles. I understand the importance of patience, consistency and encouragement when supporting young learners.

My teaching approach is tailored to each student, with a focus on building both confidence and ability. I aim to make lessons structured, enjoyable and effective, whether a child needs extra academic support, creative guidance, or simply a learning space where they feel understood and motivated. I take pride in being approachable, reliable and professional, and I genuinely care about helping each student make progress.

Above all, I want my students and their families to feel reassured that they are learning with someone who is enthusiastic, trustworthy and committed to helping children grow both academically and personally.

My tutoring approach is centred around patience, adaptability and encouragement. I believe that effective teaching should be tailored to the individual student, taking into account their learning style, confidence and academic needs. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their understanding and progressing at a pace that suits them.

Lessons are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour in length, depending on the student’s age and requirements. Each session is structured to include review, clear explanation, guided practice and independent application, ensuring that students remain engaged while steadily building knowledge and confidence.

I have experience as a tutor, mentor and student leader, as well as working with children in educational and supportive environments, including Sikh camp during half term and an art assistant role. Through these experiences, I have developed strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively with children across different ages and abilities.

My lessons are particularly well suited to children and young learners, especially those at primary level, and those who would benefit from additional one-to-one support in a patient, creative and structured setting.
