About Jacob
Although I am passionate about this history of philosophy, this passion pales in comparison to the desire that I have to see others begin to analyze, question and contemplate the contemporary world for themselves. My desire is not to dictate the meaning of philosophical texts. Instead, what I desire is to encourage and guide YOUR reading and thinking. In this increasingly polarized and dogmatic society, it has never been more important to learn to analyze situations and come to our own conclusions. With the tools of philosophy, we can be better suited to this practice. I will challenge you and aid you through this intellectual development.
Alternatively, I can simply teach and explain the meaning of various philosophical texts. The choice is up to you and based upon your needs.

Lessons offer clear and personalized guidance through a variety of texts and concepts. Learning outcomes are to attain sufficient background to understand the context of the work, improve reading comprehension ability and develop comprehensive understanding of the desired material.
My lessons entail comprehensive notes regarding the material that one wants to learn, a detailed lecture covering the material in question and an opportunity for questions and thorough responses.
These lessons are geared towards college-level courses, although may be applicable to advanced secondary humanities and anyone generally who has in interest in a philosophical area.
One is never too old or too young to take up the pursuit of independent thought.
