About Gabriel
In my training as a teacher, I learned that the best way to teach something is from the interests of the student. So my teaching method is, first of all, to hear what are the subjects that interest you and which are your initial doubts. Then I make an introduction on the subject, presenting a summary of the main points of view of the historians on the subject. From these points of view, I come up with some questions to talk about and understand it better. I always try to dialogue with the visions that you develop on the question. Work to provide information and ideas that will help you think about the topic and make your arguments better. For this, I indicate small texts and videos for you to read / watch from one class to another: small texts, to be readable, and bring different points of view about the same thing, to be possible the debate. It is also important that you organize your arguments in writing. So, between classes, I suggest, when possible, that you write down the main ideas of each text or video and what you think about them. So, my goal is to help you, always through dialogue, to specialize in the subjects of your interest.

I'm 25 years old, I'm from Florianópolis, and I've just moved to Niterói, where I started my PhD this year in the History course at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). Here, I will write my thesis on Brazil's relations with the United States during the PT governments (2003-2016), and from that I will investigate the participation of the United States in the 2016 coup, which greatly favored the US in opening the pre-salt to the foreign exploration, to yield the base of Alcântara and to remove Brazil of the countries of South America and the BRICS (Russia, India, China and South Africa). I will do this based on the analysis of the secret telegrams that the US Embassy in Brazil sent to the State Department in Washington from 2003 to 2010, documents that were leaked by WikiLeaks in 2010, where the American ambassadors comment on several subjects of Brazilian politics without imagining that his letters would be leaked and made public. Therefore, I work in the area of history of the present time, as I analyze historical processes that are still in progress; and in the area of digital history, because my sources are in a historical archive on the internet, which opens many possibilities for historical research, since we can search for keywords, subjects, regions, etc. Before coming to Niterói, I lived in Florianópolis, where I did my degree and my master's degree in History at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). I started the course in 2011, and in the second semester I became a scholar of the Tutorial Education Program (PET - History), where I carried out teaching, research and extension activities in History for two years (2011-2013). The activities consisted of researching in hierarchical archives, organizing events and debates for the History course, and working in the pre-university course that we offered to the students of public colleges near the University. I was a scholar of Scientific Initiation for two years (2013-2014 and 2015-2016), when I researched Brazil's relations with the United States during the 20th century, and also monitored the discipline of Modern History (15th, 16th, 17th and 20th centuries). XVIII) in 2015. I graduated in 2016, when I presented my work to conclude course on contemporary imperialism. At the UFSC, the History course offers an integral formation to the historians, forming them both for research activities and for teacher activities. Therefore, a great part of the course subjects are directed to our teacher training, from those about practices and methodologies of how to teach history, to those of the Teaching Internship, when we act as teachers in the schools of the city. In addition to his experience as a teacher at the Application College in 2014, I also gave classes for the graduation of the History course of UFSC in 2017 during the Master's Teaching Internship.
