About Gwyn
I am a Drama and Theatre Studies Student who has been teaching and coaching speaking and listening skills for over two years. I am a Senior Mentor with Debate Mate and teach debating to classes of up to 20 on a weekly basis. I also have Grade A A-Level qualifications in both English Literature and Language, and Drama. I have also coached Rotary Youth Speaks South West champions for two consecutive years before joining the judging panel at age 17.

My teaching method is very interactive, in order to retain the attention of a young person. I will usually begin a class with some refresher exercises and/or small activities relevant to the sessions lesson objective. This is then followed by the main bulk of the learning which I do through a mixture of reading/writing activities and some active projects as physical movement has been proven to aid concentration when the difficult lessons get dull and it can often help to visualise what it is we are learning through physical representations. I usually follow this with an independent task (either reading or writing) to allow focus on what has been learnt, finishing a session with reflections on what has been studied, in order to solidify the lesson objective.
