About Emily
I am a recent graduate from Durham University with a passion for teaching. I have studied English throughout my academic career and have a love for reading. My favourite books are A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle and Mists of Avalon but I also enjoy poetry, particularly the work of Brian Bilston and John Hegley, my favourite Shakespeare play is much ado about nothing.
Learning English and studying texts should be about finding deeper meaning, empathising and exploring feelings through characters. Language is about expression and my lessons strive to not only encourage understanding of how to develop an academic vocabulary to discuss but tools to understand.
