About Bryan
Hi! I'm Bryan, and I'm an Education Student at UCL, and I've been playing bass guitar for 6 years now.
I play bass in multiple bands (both student-led and for musicals), and am an active member of the music scene in UCL. I am able to give guidance on technique and learning songs, but also in improving one's musical instincts and improvisation. I'm also able to give advice on musical composition, as I am also a composer and producer who works in creating music regularly.
I grew up in an international school in Hong Kong, and then came to the UK for secondary school. I've had experience tutoring since I was 15, and have had internships and work experience teaching a variety of students. My degree has helped me better focus my teaching methods, and has helped me become able to aid my students more effectively.

I aim to make learning enjoyable through using songs that the student already enjoys (making modifications to the bass part if it is too complex).
I listen to a large variety of genres (e.g. Rock, EDM, Math Rock, Pop, Metal, Ambient, Lo-Fi, folk etc.), and am comfortable learning lines by ear (a skill I can also attempt to teach students).
While I can teach the basics of bass guitar, I am also able to teach a large variety of more advanced techniques (e.g. slap, double thumb, tapping) to help students with learning their chosen songs.
