About Erika
I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated third in my high school class there in 2007 as the senior class president and the leader of our Math Club!
I went on to graduate from the University of Arizona with degrees in Materials Science Engineering and Math, and now work in Los Angeles for one of the world's leaders in medical devices.
I've continued to tutor all levels of math over the years. I pride myself on creating a relationship with students where they feel truly comfortable asking as many questions as needed, and reiterating as many ways as necessary to enable their understanding. This is often a challenge in large classroom environments when students are surround by their peers, but committed tutors like myself love to bridge that gap. Not only do the grades improve but confidence in learning is the priceless side effect. (Many even decide they don't hate math after all!)

Math can often be challenging because it is so rigid, but everyone learns differently! Growing up with ADHD I learned early that the key to enabling understanding depends largely on how the student best receives information. I've had great success in teaching and tutoring in a tough topic by prioritizing this assessment early. Not only has it helped provide clarity in math, but the students tend to apply similar techniques in other topics and carry that knowledge with them through their future education.
