About Hazel
My passion for engineering began with a fascination for how structures, machines, and systems come together to solve everyday challenges. Over six years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students through this remarkable field, helping them understand not just equations and diagrams but the purpose behind them. Teaching engineering allows me to combine technical knowledge with mentorship, supporting students as they grow in both skill and confidence. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to mastery continues to inspire me. My teaching style is patient, clear, and adaptive. I understand that engineering can feel intimidating, so I focus on making concepts straightforward and approachable. I tailor my explanations to fit each student’s learning style, whether they benefit from visual representation, step-by-step logic, or real-world comparisons. I value consistency, encouragement, and thoughtful guidance, creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring questions and tackling challenges. My goal is to help learners develop confidence and genuine interest in the subject. Outside of teaching, I stay connected to engineering by studying new developments, engaging in technical discussions, and exploring real-world applications. This ongoing learning helps me bring fresh and relevant insights into my lessons. Teaching engineering is deeply meaningful to me because it empowers students to understand the world through analytical thinking and creative problem-solving. Supporting learners in their growth, both academically and personally, remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Engineering becomes truly engaging when students begin to understand how principles, systems, and problem-solving approaches shape real-world structures and technologies. My lessons aim to create an environment where learners feel supported, inspired, and excited about exploring engineering concepts. I focus on making complex ideas feel approachable by breaking them down into clear explanations, relatable examples, and practical reasoning. Every session is designed to help students build confidence, analytical ability, and meaningful understanding, whether they are just starting or advancing their knowledge.
For beginners, lessons cover foundational topics such as forces, motion, energy, and basic mechanical reasoning. Intermediate students explore materials, structural analysis, fluid concepts, system behavior, and applied calculations. Advanced learners work on design principles, analytical modeling, project-focused preparation, and higher-level problem-solving. I use diagrams, case studies, step-by-step solutions, and personalized exercises to ensure students build strong technical confidence. Lessons are structured to match the student’s pace and academic needs, making learning both manageable and rewarding.
Engineering lessons aim to cultivate not only academic skills but also resilience, clarity of thought, and a deeper appreciation for innovation. Many students grow into confident thinkers who can break down complex challenges and approach them with methodical reasoning. I strive to help learners recognize their own abilities, strengthening both competence and creativity. My mission is to ensure every student finishes each lesson feeling empowered, informed, and excited to continue their engineering journey.
