About Tasfia
Hello! My name is Tasfia Mia, and I’m a third-year Computer and Electrical Engineering student at the University of Virginia. I’ve been tutoring for several years and have experience working with students from kindergarten through college. I specialize in math, specifically Algebra, Calculus, and Differential Equations, and I’ve taught in both one-on-one and group settings. I’m currently a Teaching Assistant for an Ordinary Differential Equations course at UVA, where I support college students with advanced math topics. I like to keep my lessons clear, flexible, and student-focused. I’ve worked with students from elementary school to college, mainly in math subjects like Algebra, Calculus, and Differential Equations. I adjust how I teach depending on the student. If they’re younger, I keep things simple and encouraging. If they’re older, I ask guiding questions to help them think through the problem before stepping in. A typical session includes walking through examples, figuring out what’s confusing, and working through it together.
