About Charlie
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Anthropology from the University of Cape Town, and am currently completing and Honours degree in English there as well. In addition, I am a certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher. I've worked one-one-one with students, as well as in larger groups.

My teaching experience has been focused on teenagers and adults learning English as a foreign language, although I also have informal experience tutoring first language English students.
I approach every lesson with the goal of teaching my students something useful, as well as helping them if they need support or revision of concepts and techniques. It is important as well that lesson content is aimed to be relevant and appropriate to the students' religious, cultural, and educational background and needs. Importantly, to develop and maintain students' language skills, they will be actively engaged by a variety of activities throughout the lesson.

Travel

Details
The rate per hour will increase if I need to travel to the student, from R180/hour to R230/hour. The extra R50 is to cover travel expenses to and from the student's home.
If the student or a parent needs to cancel or add a lesson, then I will need 24 hours notice or I will charge 50% of the fee for the lesson that's missed.
