About Georgia
I wrote and performed a semi-autobiographical play, DADDY’S GIRL, which ran at the Vault Festival in 2019. Daddy’s Girl won the festival’s Highly Commended award, as well as a raft of
rave reviews. Michael Billington from The Guardian said ‘Daddy’s girl is a wild, funny, soul-baring show about an unusual father-daughter relationship. It hurtles along like a rollercoaster and I hugely enjoyed the ride.’ I am currently under commission as a playwright at the BIG HOUSE theatre
company, which transforms the lives of care-leavers and at-risk young people through the power of performance.
I have written a long-form feature essay for The Fence about the history of borstals told through a personal lens. This essay was picked to go into Longreads - a literary magazine that picks 5 of the best essays weekly. I am currently writing a narrative non-fiction book proposal about child
incarceration. I love language and the transformative power of language. I am very interested in psychoanalysis and sometimes attend lectures at CFAR.

I like to make learning fun, and my focus and end goal is that reading and writing can and should be a joy not a chore.
I have a practical focus on each exam board’s assessment objectives with a sharing of my own pleasure in, and passion for, language. It is always a great privilege to be able to ignite a similar passion for both reading and writing in my students.
I have taught English to all ages. I left LAMDA in 2009 and was an actress for ten years, before committing to writing full time in 2019. I have written award-winning plays and currently have two films in development. Last year I wrote a feature for The Fence magazine. I am repped by Casarotto.
