About Vanessa
I have over five years of teaching experience, beginning in 2019, working in both in-person tutoring centers and online one-to-one settings. During this time, I have taught learners from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and age groups, and I am comfortable working within structured academic schedules as well as flexible individual arrangements. I am highly organized and place strong emphasis on punctuality, preparation, and consistency. My approach as a tutor is student-centred, supportive, and structured. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged, and clearly guided. I focus on practical language use, helping learners develop confidence in reading, listening, speaking, and conversation, while steadily expanding vocabulary. Lessons are adapted to each student’s level, pace, and goals, with clear explanations and gentle correction to support long-term improvement.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up conversation or listening activity to activate vocabulary and build fluency. We then focus on one or two key skills, such as reading comprehension, listening practice, or speaking tasks. New vocabulary is introduced in context and practised through guided exercises and conversation. Each lesson ends with feedback, corrections, and clear guidance on what to practise next.
What sets me apart is my ability to work comfortably with learners of all ages and backgrounds. I am open-minded, culturally aware, and experienced in teaching both online and in person. I focus not only on accuracy, but also on helping students feel confident expressing themselves naturally in English.
My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, university students, and adults. I work with beginners through advanced learners, including students who want conversational English, academic support, or steady improvement in overall communication skills.
