A session with me is guaranteed to make you curious and interested in all the stuff you need to learn whether you like maths or no !
Firstly, I'll get to know you, make sure you feel virtually safe and comfortable around me. All will be done online, by webcam, whatsapp and various other resources until it is safer to organise face to face sessions. Then, I'll work out which type of learner you are. For instance, if you seem to be a visual learner, I will use graphics of, say, functions and visually explain how they behave, draw and doodle examples, deeply dive into the background of trigonometric relations by extracting them directly from the unit circle and so on. On the other hand, if I am teaching a group of students, I will make sure that my approach satisfies each of their learning styles, so that everyone feels engaged. Finally, I am confident that I can show you how fun and inspiring maths really is. I like to dive into the history and background of new concepts I teach to keep you interested. If there is one thing you can trust me for, it's my ability to make maths fun ! You will enjoy learning with me, I will share my passion with you and reveal aspects of the subject you might overlook in classrooms, hence, not only helping you get good grades but also enjoy the process.
A multi-lingual pure mathematician studying at the University of Greenwich. I have excellent mathematical expertise and ability to communicate it. I conduct my own research and study in topics like Set Theory and Logic. I am a member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and actively give talks at mathematical conferences when opportunities arise. I have experience in teaching various ages from 5-16 years old kids to mature students. I currently work as a teacher at The Enlighten Academy and I have previously tutored mature postgraduate students.
Member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Application London branch. Pursuing a degree in Mathematics at the University of Greenwich and holding a Mathematical Sciences International Baccalaureate. I have studied Maths throughout my curriculum in Arabic, French and English. I am offering tutoring lessons for all levels from KS1 to university.
My official job as a maths tutor within The Enlighten Academy allows me to actively use my mathematical expertise while fulfilling my passion for teaching and spreading knowledge. My enthusiastic and energetic personality traits enable me to effectively support pupils across the curriculum and offer help to those with extra needs. A strong sense of responsibility, patience and confidentiality are also essential for me to supervise student groups and assist with marking. All my students are achieving ascending grades and have gained more confidence to pass their SATs and GCSEs. I am open to all levels and will thoroughly study your material in advance to take care of preparing lessons and exercise sheets. Do not hesitate to contact me outside of our normal sessions if you have any questions or require help and guidance with anything.
I am passionate about public speaking and conferences as I participated in the IMA’s national conference ‘Tomorrow’s Mathematicians Today’ where I gave an insightful and innovative presentation in front of students from 16 UK universities and received the highest number of nominations from the audience as best speaker. After this success, I got invited to the conference SHIFT on January 2020 to give a talk about my experience. More information at: (concealed information) and (concealed information) I actively look for conferences and opportunities to inspire people about the power of mathematics and fulfil my interest in public speaking.
As for my interests, I consider pure mathematics a very creative and fascinating field, hence reading and learning about it is my main hobby. But I also love music and I play the electric guitar in my free time. I also frequently attend open mics, carnivals and masquerades. I am fond of arts and history, so I enjoy exploring and visiting galleries or museums.
Perfect! I reached out to Yousra to help me with understanding complexity of calculus in order to support my postgraduate studies. My expectations were exceeded. She always arrived prepared to all of our lessons with numerous hard and easy examples that were explained in a clear and creative manner. She was often able to fit the maths we did within an applied context and answer any of my questions. It seems that she can crack any mathematical problem of any level of complexity. Patient with my learning and overall a very interesting conversation partner. I look forward to working with her on some more maths in the future. If you are looking for an intelligent, composed and a kind tutor to support you with anything in maths, Yousra is the right person. :)
Lovely and amazing student. An excellent listener and agile thinker. Despite not having done a lot of maths in her curriculum I didn't find it challenging at all to tackle very abstract concepts with her. I greatly enjoyed chats with her in general and I learnt a lot on neuroscience! I would totally recommend her as a future student to anyone really.
